James W Tilghman AIA Lead Designer for 99,000 sf Medical Arts Research Building (MARB) on the UConn Health Center Campus: the first building in a new campus Masterplan. The central design objectives consisted of creating a new Campus focal point and gateway icon consistent with the institutional objectives of promoting established Signature Programs, and attracting and retaining key research talent. The new building stands as a highly integrated microcosm of the entire Health Center, housing public spaces, research and academic space, in addition to operating rooms and clinical spaces in the Farmington Surgery Center.
